The Atlanta Black Theatre Festival (ABTF) and Creative Arts Conference is proud to announce its 14th annual festival at the newly renovated LaTanya Richardson Jackson and Samuel L. Jackson Performing Arts Center and the Hilton Atlanta Airport Hotel. This year's programming reflects the festival's ongoing commitment to showcasing the arts in a setting that is as daring and innovative as the stories it elevates.
Our emphasis is on curated experiences that are intentionally intimate and bold, and carefully designed to foster deeper connections between audiences and artists. This is a year you don't want to miss!
Your support will make a lasting impact, ensuring that our essential narratives have a platform to be heard. Thank you!

"The Mecca" is a colloquial term that describes a place or institution highly regarded and respected within the community for its significance, influence, and impact on the culture. For over a decade, the Atlanta Black Theatre Festival has served as a hub for playwrights, actors, directors, visual artists, and creative professionals to showcase their work, collaborate, and amplify the voices of marginalized communities. The Mecca of Black theatre is a symbolic designation that recognizes the importance of the space or entity in nurturing emerging and seasoned talent, fostering creativity, and contributing to the richness and preservation of Black theatrical traditions.
